We know it is annoying when the wifi goes out when you are surfing on Facebook or on your favorite news website or YouTube, etc. This calls for a term called wifi problems and there’s a number of things that can go wrong when you are browsing on wifi and let us skip the privacy, security part and move towards components and elements that would affect it’s connectivity and access to the internet which is by far the most annoying things for phone addicts (no offense) and users these days....

Apple has lost a patent battle against high-end pro camera company RED over a method used to compress RAW video footage. The Cupertino company had claimed that RED should never have been awarded a patent for its ProRes RAW codec because the technology was obvious… The codec is used in RED cameras to compress RAW video as it is captured. Other companies wanting to use it in their own devices have to pay a royalty....

The removal of the ad-free built-in YouTube app from iOS seems to have paid-off for Google, with the ad-enabled replacement version contributing to a tripling of the video-sharing site’s mobile ad revenue in the last six months. YouTube owner Google reports (via Bloomberg) that more than half of all U.S. smartphone owners have used the YouTube app, and that a quarter of traffic comes from phones and tablets. Figures released earlier this year by Ooyala showed that iOS users account for two-thirds of mobile video viewing, and Google previously revealed that the same proportion of its mobile searches came from Apple’s iPhone and iPad users....

If Apple is going to produce an electric vehicle like Tesla, then naturally Apple will want to provide customers with a way to recharge away from home without relying on infrastructure from third parties. Reuters now reports that Apple is showing interest in such charging stations as it’s talking to existing companies and hiring engineers with experience in building them. Specifically, the report shares that Apple is simply exploring the technology behind charging stations that would be used to power its electric vehicle for customers:...

According to Longbow Research (via Bloomberg), Apple is still facing challenges in the China market as far as iPhone sales are concerned. They track search volumes on the Chinese search engine Baidu and note that iPhone searches are almost half what they were a year ago. Search volume can be used as an indirect proxy for consumer interest, as typically lower searches for a product mean that fewer people are looking to buy them....

The on again, off again merger between Sprint and T-Mobile is seemingly back on the table. According to a new report from The Wall Street Journal, the two carriers are working to “salvage” the deal following concerns about ownership of the newly formed entity. It was reported last week that Softbank was planning to call off the Sprint and T-Mobile merger, but a separately report quickly refuted those claims and said there were no plans to end the talks....

I have to admit that I was unsure of how I’d feel about Ring Fit Adventure ahead of my hands-on time with it. You can’t get much sketchier than a Chinese Economic Daily report cited by DigiTimes, but the former is citing supply chain sources in claiming that Apple plans to release the iWatch in the third quarter of this year, and that the company expects to ship 65M units this year. The original story says that suppliers have been asked to meet an August delivery date. The iWatch will be manufactured by Quanta Computer, while Taiwan-based chip design house Richtek has also entered the supply chain....

As it continues its ongoing battle with Apple, Qualcomm today has officially filed a patent infringement lawsuit against the company, seeking an import ban on the iPhone. This move was first reported earlier this year, but Qualcomm today made it official. Qualcomm alleges that Apple has infringed on six of its patents in efforts to improve the iPhone’s battery life.
