A new report from Japanese news site Macotakara offers new details and speculation on this year’s iPhone refresh. According to today’s report, the previously rumored 5-inch iPhone is actually the high-end model that has been rumored time and again. The report also claims that Apple may call this high-end model the “iPhone Edition.” This evening’s report explains that Apple is currently testing a variety of different prototypes for its flagship model for this year....

When Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone 4 in 2010, Apple began focusing heavily on the device’s camera as an area for continuous improvement and promotion. That device featured a 5 MP backside camera, and the next three models (iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s) featured an 8 MP iSight camera with various improvements along the way. That pixel count may not change according to a report from The China Post (via MacRumors) which cites financial group Nomura Securities and falling shares of Largen Precision Company....

Prior to the official announcement of the Apple Watch, there were multiple rumors that the device would be packed with health-related sensors. When it finally launched, however, it got just a heart-rate monitor – albeit a sophisticated one. A teardown revealed that there’s also a pulse oximeter in there, to measure oxygen saturation in your blood, but Apple hasn’t yet activated that functionality. The apparent turnabout on sensors was explained by Tim Cook, who last year told the Telegraph that Apple wanted to avoid the need for FDA approval as a regulated health product as that would slow innovation....

It’s a classic sci-fi comedy but is Red Dwarf season 13 going to happen anytime soon? Red Dwarf is a sitcom inspired by the likes of John Carpenter’s Dark Star and Alien tha debuted on the BBC in 1988. The series follows Dave Lister (Craig Charles), a lazy slob aboard the mining spaceship Red Dwarf who is sentenced to suspended animation for bringing his pet cat on board. He awakens to learn an accident has wiped out the rest of the crew, he’s stranded in deep space and that three million years have passed....

Even though we’re still a month away from the iPhone X making its way to consumers, many are already looking towards next year. Building off of reports claiming Apple has a 6-inch iPhone in the work, iDropNews today has shared a new set of renders that imagine that large-screened iPhone… The renders depict a 6.4-inch “iPhone X Plus” that features the same nearly bezel-less design as the upcoming iPhone X, but in a larger overall footprint....

The 12.9″ iPad Pro is a great productivity device, but unfortunately it ships with an inadequate 12W power adapter. This is the same charger commonly used with the smaller 9.7″ iPad line, and it’s much inadequate for a device as large and as power hungry as the 12.9″ iPad Pro. I find that when using the iPad Pro at full brightness, it’s difficult to maintain your current charge, let alone gain battery life, when using the 12W charger....

A rumor suggests that Kylo Ren’s line revealing Rey is a Palpatine in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was a last-minute addition, but that can’t actually be the case. Directed by J.J. Abrams, who co-wrote the script alongside Chris Terrio (Batman v Superman), The Rise of Skywalker was a divisive end to the Skywalker saga. Abrams’ movie made a lot of big swings, including bringing back Emperor Palpatine, redeeming and killing Ben Solo, and ending with Rey taking on the name Skywalker....

Rami Malek’s experience working with director Bryan Singer on the set of Bohemian Rhapsody was apparently “unpleasant.” The recent Queen bio-pic - starring Malek as lead singer Freddie Mercury - has come under fire due to Singer’s involvement. Singer had originally been attached as the director of the film, but was fired due to an unexpected absence during the film’s production. Singer was replaced by Dexter Fletcher (Eddie the Eagle) for the remainder of production, though Singer is still credited as director....
