Report Instagram Planning Standalone Threads App

Instagram is reportedly planning to launch an app called “Threads” that would serve as a companion to the main Instagram application. The Verge reports today that Threads would “promote constant, intimate sharing between users and their closest friends.” In many ways, Threads is Instagram’s latest attempt at copying popular Snapchat features. The company was originally developing the standalone “Direct” app, but it abandoned plans for that earlier this year. Threads takes features of Direct and Snapchat, and integrates them with the “Close Friends” feature of Instagram itself....

Retrevo Sets A Price For Apple S Rumoured So Called Tablet Product

O RLY?. This report’s generating lots of coverage, we note – so we’d best chime in too….seems that Apple’s still unannounced, unconfirmed and currently undetailed purported tablet/slate thing needs to sell for $600 or less to appeal to the wide church of PC users, apparently. Retrevo tells us, “Apple’s going to have to be very aggressive on pricing if they want to win over PC owners.” Uh huh? Assuming Apple does intend taking on the netbook market with its tablet, the research warns: “The study also found Apple had better hurry up if they want to capture any of the netbook market because many consumers, both Mac and PC owners, have already bought a netbook and many more plan on buying one soon....

Rise Of Skywalker Being Bad Isn T Last Jedi S Fault It S Abrams Disney

Despite grossing over $1 billion at the box office, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is still seen as a critical disappointment, and it has nothing to do with what Star Wars: The Last Jedi did. The final chapter in the epic Skywalker saga was released in December 2019, and was met with shockingly mixed-to-negative reviews, with distinct emphasis placed on the film’s abundance of pandering fan service. After Colin Trevorrow exited Star Wars 9 in September 2017, fans were in a frenzy to find out how the sequel trilogy (and the story that began with the release George Lucas’ Star Wars in 1977) would end....

Riverdale 5 Best 5 Worst Relationships

Riverdale seems like an idyllic, wholesome town. Its landmarks have quaint names like Sweetwater River. The milkshakes at Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe are dynamite. But this is all an exquisite facade. It’s astonishing that the town with pep still has residents, as the characters of Riverdale are in constant danger from serial killers, insidious cults, and a booming narcotics industry—though even the drugs have cutesy names, like Jingle-Jangle and Fizzle Rocks....

Romantic Comedies 5 Couples That Are Perfect Together 5 That Make No Sense

What would a romantic comedy be without the relationships these films focus all their time and attention on? If the leading love interests don’t have any chemistry together or a convincing connection, the movie is ultimately doomed. Sometimes, when these relationships are unconvincing, we have no desire to ever watch the rom-com again. On the other hand, when there is a beautiful romance in a rom-com that we can buy into, we tend to rewatch these movies so much that we practically memorize them....

Rumor Namor The Sub Mariner Project In Development

For the average moviegoer, the distinction between a Marvel Studios film (like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) and a movie featuring Marvel character’s (like Deadpool) may be a bit confusing. During the ’90s, while suffering the threat of bankruptcy, Marvel sold off a number of its character rights to various film studios. The effort worked, as the company bounced back and movies based around Blade, Spider-Man and the X-Men all went into production....

Qualcomm Antitrust Ruling May Well Be Overturned On Appeal

The Qualcomm antitrust ruling may well be reversed on appeal, say some legal experts, who think the chipmaker has ‘strong arguments’ on its side. Qualcomm’s legal showdown with Apple may have fizzled out, but a separate case did go the distance. Earlier this month, the company lost a case brought by the FTC, and was ordered to renegotiate its licensing terms with smartphone makers. However, that decision was based on a fairly obscure precedent involving a ski company, and some experts think it likely to be reversed …...

Report Apple Building Its Own Cloud Infrastructure Under Project Mcqueen Codename

The report says that Apple’s motivation to build out its own infrastructure came after a conversation with Microsoft. Microsoft won’t be able to handle Apple’s continued growth in the cloud, meaning that Apple would have to aid Microsoft in growing Azure. So in the long run, it makes much more sense for Apple to work on building out its own networks rather than supporting Microsoft’s. Apple has also been buying up land in China and Hong Kong to build out data centers, according to the report, although specific details are unclear....

Riverdale 10 Times The Show Broke Our Hearts

At first glance, a TV series based on the Archie comic series doesn’t seem like it would be totally heartbreaking. These popular (and adorable) stories follow the lives of Archie Andrews and his friends Veronica Lodge and Betty Cooper. Of course, there’s drama because both girls are in love with him, but the tone is light and funny. Riverdale, the teen series based on the Archie world, is definitely much darker than the source material....
