Pushing back from the coronavirus-fuelled slump at the start of the year, Apple’s iPhone was the fastest growing smartphone brand in China in Q2, according to data from Counterpoint Research. The internet has of course been on fire ever since the legendary Scorsese, director of classics like Taxi Driver and Raging Bull, offered up his opinion of Marvel movies and their dominant position in the current movie landscape. This morning, the crew has released Bad Piggies for 99 cents. Apple’s fight with Qualcomm isn’t cooling off anytime soon. Bloomberg reports that Qualcomm has filed a new lawsuit against Apple accusing it of helping Intel using Qualcomm code. Apple and Qualcomm have been in a messy legal dispute since the start of the year. The new report notes that Qualcomm is claiming Apple could have used “unprecedented access” to code in order to aid Intel in developing competing chips. Earlier this week, it was reported that Apple may be planning to move entirely away from Qualcomm in the future with new iPhones and iPads, and yesterday Qualcomm reported a 90% drop in profits following the battle with Apple and held royalties....
A Chinese media report on the social media site Weibo, via iGeneration, claims that Apple will expand the iPhone XS lineup to include a new red color option later this month. Presumably branded as PRODUCT(RED), it would join the red iPhone XR that Apple has sold since launch. The news supposedly comes via factory workers who heard of the plans yesterday.
