A report from AppleInsider shines a light on how Apple’s staff are not adequately trained and prepared to deal with Mac Pro problems. Their production Mac Pro started exhibiting issues, but found the Apple support experience less than satisfactory. In a clear case of Apple Stores not being ready to service the Mac Pro effectively, the report describes how one Apple Store Genius tried to power the machine by plugging a MacBook PRO USB-C charger into one of the Mac Pro’s Thunderbolt ports....

There has been some talk as of late that Apple has begun sourcing Samsung parts from other suppliers amid a nasty patent spat with the Korean consumer electronics maker. It is therefore entirely possible that Apple bought the 8GB NAND flash model from Toshiba, but with the price being paramount for this cheap iPhone 4 we wouldn’t be surprise if the chips came from Samsung, if the price was right. The Reuters report also describes iPhone 5 as sporting an improved antenna, a bigger screen and an eight-megapixel camera on the back....

I took Twelve South’s BookBook for Air for an extensive spin through a bunch of everyday usage scenarios and in various urban and Mediterranean settings. I have an admission to make: I’ve never been a big fan of protective cases for Apple products. There, I said it. Iconic horror actor Robert Englund once made a guest appearance on The CW’s long-running series Supernatural, and here’s details on his character. Amid falling sales of the device, The Wall Street Journal reports that Apple is working with more than 40 tech companies to make the iPad a more appealing work tool. Analytics firm Flurry has dissected developer ratios for Apple and Google’s mobile platforms as their respective annual conferences are on the horizon, and research findings show the two companies boast a joint market cap of about $750 billion. The study compared developer support for iOS versus Android by examining data collected from more than 70,000 companies across more than 185,000 mobile apps. The bar graph below illustrates developers’ loyalty to Apple: For every 10 apps that developers build, seven are for the iOS operating system....

Scott Forstall, the former SVP of iOS Software who was replaced by Craig Federighi under Tim Cook’s executive reorganization in late 2012, has reportedly been using his free time to advise startups, spend money philanthropically, and visit other countries....

“Cryptocurrencies are very much like a speculative or gambling contract working like a Ponzi scheme. In fact, it has been argued that the original scheme devised by Charles Ponzi in 1920 is better than cryptocurrencies from a social perspective,” said Reserve Bank of India deputy governor Shri Rabi Sankar, who gave an address to the Indian Banks Association earlier this week. Expressing his concern regarding the hype surrounding cryptocurrency in India, Sankar said a ban would be more effective in protecting Indians than any attempt to regulate the digital asset....

A few weeks ago, Apple debuted a new “Find My Certification Asst.” app today designed to let third-party companies test how their accessories will work with the Find My application. This news comes after Apple announced at WWDC 2020 that it would open up the Find My network to third-party products. One of the things that made The Office so funny was its cast of over the top characters. Many of the characters were pretty funny themselves, but only a few of them had self-aware humor. Most of the biggest laughs on the show came from the ridiculous antics that the employees of Dunder Mifflin would get up to. While some of the time these characters knew they were being funny, often it was the characters who were completely oblivious to their own humor that made us laugh the most....
