Angry Birds maker Rovio has announced a new feature coming soon to its titles that will allow users to save game data in the cloud and resume playing where they left off on any device. It’s a feature that is still missing from many mobile games on the App Store, especially those that implement cross platform support for other devices such as Android and Mac. There’s no word on exactly what games Rovio plans to support with the new feature, but it is already rolling out its new “Rovio Account” to users of The Croods game across the globe and some Angry Birds users in locations such as Poland and Finland....

One of the things that made The Office so funny was its cast of over the top characters. Many of the characters were pretty funny themselves, but only a few of them had self-aware humor. iPad Pro officially launched last week to the public after initially being announced back in September. The device launched in Apple’s standard trio of color choices, as well: silver, gold, and Space Gray. As with all Apple products, the Touch ID ring found on the Space Gray model is black, while the ring is gold on the gold model and silver on the silver model, just like you’d expect. Scanner Pro, which lets users scan documents, receipts, and more using their iPhone or iPad, recieved a big update to version 4.5 this week. The update enables live border detection, which allows the app to intelligently find the edges of whatever is being scanned while you photograph it. In our testing, the border detection was very accurate, although it did have a bit of trouble when the paper and the background where different shades of the same color....

Apple’s plans for microLED have been reported before, with some claiming the company is currently in the stages of trial production. Now, a report from Nikkei claims that Apple currently plans to adopt microLED in its wearable products, perhaps as soon as 2018. The report explains that Apple hopes to be ahead of the curve when it comes to microLED production. Currently, the company relies heavily on Samsung for the upcoming iPhone 8 with OLED displays, but that’s a practice it hopes to avoid with future display technology....

The new technique – jointly developed by researchers from Australia’s University of Melbourne, University of New South Wales (UNSW) and RMIT, and Germany’s Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf and Leibniz Institute of Surface Engineering – involves precisely embedding single atoms one-by-one in silicon wafers.
