A new Red Dead Redemption 2 rating from the Australian Classification Board is the latest piece of evidence to suggest a PC version of the game will be announced by developer Rockstar Games imminently. Red Dead Redemption 2 was classified as multi-platform 11 months ago by the board originally, and a reclassification would be strange without a new platform being pursued by the game. Many fans are already convinced Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC will be announced in the next few weeks thanks to the release of the Rockstar Game Launcher, the developer’s new launcher that features several GTA titles but no Red Dead Redemption for the time being....

A report from Korea’s ETnews claims that Apple will be applying Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) shielding to a number of individual chips in the iPhone 7, to reduce electromagnetic interference. This would be a step up from Apple’s current approach of applying shielding to the circuit board as a whole, though it did apply shielding to the S1 chip used in the Apple Watch. While unattributed, the report appears to originate from one of the Korean companies said to be in line to carry out the shielding work, StatsChipPac and Amkor....

The rumors around the redesigned 16-inch MacBook Pro continue to flow in. A report today via Economic Daily News suggests that the new laptop will enter mass production in the fourth quarter. The previously-rumored 10.2-inch iPad is also apparently on the way with mass production starting later this month, set to replace the 2018 iPad. The product news comes via a supply chain report focusing on the backlight supplier for Apple’s new devices....

Back in September, Roku announced that it would add HomeKit and AirPlay 2 support sometime this year. The new features are now rolling out to 4K Roku streaming devices as well as Roku TV models. AirPlay 2 and HomeKit have rolled out to a variety of smart TVs over the last two years, from companies such as LG, Samsung, and Vizio. Roku’s rollout is particularly notable because of the company’s popular streaming sticks and set-top boxes that are oftentimes more affordable than the competition....

Qualcomm has released its quarterly earnings results and acknowledged the ongoing legal dispute with Apple in detail. Specifically, Qualcomm says Apple’s suppliers have “withheld ~$1 billion from their payments” over royalties for sales activity in the December quarter alone. Qualcomm has also provided a wide range of guidance for its next fiscal quarter because of the ongoing legal battle… Qualcomm adds in its filing that “we continue to carry ~$1 billion in other current liabilities for unpaid disputed amounts with respect to the Cooperation Agreement with Apple....

In an update on Friday morning, the company said the “vast majority” of its sites are back up and running on the front end, but many systems are still facing a variety of issues. Realm, a company which provides mobile databases to around 100,000 app developers, told Business Insider that its stats show that developers are losing interest in the Apple Watch. “On a weekly basis we’re seeing very few Watch apps, compared to iOS apps,” says VP Tim Anglade. “For every 1,000 new iOS apps being built, there are 10 tvOS apps and maybe 1 Watch app” … Anglade says that there’s a bit of a ‘gold rush’ into tvOS apps as it’s a new platform, similar to that seen for the Watch when it first came out....
