As time has gone on and increased reports of Apple’s next iPhone lacking a headphone jack have persisted, I’ve begun to delve deeper into the future of what consumer audio playback on iOS could be. Though headphones have found their way into nearly all levels of the consumer market in the past few years, I wanted to imagine what this headphone jack-less future could look like. Unfortunately for fans of Lost and Lord of the Rings, Monghan’s character doesn’t have a a significant role in The Rise of Skywalker; instead, he props up the Resistance base on Ajan Kloss and provides the audience with snippets of information about the state of play in the fight against the First Order....

Rotten Tomatoes has gone a step further in battling online trolls by adding verified user audience scores to its site. Rotten Tomatoes, which is a review aggregator site, has been attempting to battle users who take advantage of the site’s system to review-bomb movies, including some films, such as Star Wars IX: The Rise of Skywalker, that haven’t even premiered yet. Before its release, female-led superhero movie Captain Marvel was bombarded with negative reviews....

It feels like Apple is embroiled in battles from all sides at the moment. As well as managing expectations following a dramatic cut to revenue guidance earlier this week, Apple is also tied up with court battles around the world with Qualcomm. Today, Qualcomm formally enforced the iPhone ban in Germany by posting a $1.6 billion bond. If the appeal rules in Apple’s favor, this fund will compensate Apple for lost sales....

Planning documents obtained by the Chicago Tribune reveal Apple’s spectacular plans for a new flagship store on the north bank of the Chicago River. Fittingly for the city which was home to Frank Lloyd Wright, the design echoes the Midwestern Prairie Style buildings created by the famous architect. Apple confirmed the plans to the Tribune, which reports that they have already been granted approval, with a formal presentation set to ‘rubber-stamp’ the decision on Thursday … The plans were drawn up by Apple’s favourite architects, Foster + Partners, responsible for the design of the company’s Spaceship campus, as well as the redesign for London’s Regent Street store....

Apple wants us to believe that its Music streaming service is the best thing to happen to the industry since iTunes was launched. If one report is to be believed, things might not be taking off as well as we might expect from an Apple product. A new report from Fast Company today says that only the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro model will support the faster millimeter-wave version of 5G. Concept art from the Power Rangers movie reboot reveals some early designs for the film’s villain, Rita Repulsa. Power Rangers has received a fair amount of acclaim for its fun, campy tone and approach to the original franchise, which neither dumbed it down nor tried to make it grittier or darker than was necessary. Riverdale has fast become one of The CW’s most streamed shows, so its renewal for a second season hasn’t exactly come as a surprise. Since the rebooted Queer Eye premiered on Netflix in 2018, we have all fallen in love with Jonathan van Ness.
