A new video posted to YouTube today has demonstrated what is almost certainly the first Apple Watch app capable of remotely controlling most of the functions of Tesla’s Model S. In the video (which you can watch below), developer Allen Wong shows off a Glance that views an overview of the car’s status before launching into the main app to review its capabilities. Through the app, Wong is able to issue a series of commands to the vehicle, ranging from rudimentary options like honking the horn or flashing the lights, to bigger settings such as full panoramic roof control (something not even Tesla’s official app offers yet) or controlling the car’s charging state and port....

First introduced in the original Star Wars in 1977 along with his constant companion C-3P0, the feisty astromech droid affectionately known as Artoo quickly became a fan favorite for his plucky courage in helping Luke Skywalker and company take down the Galactic Empire’s ultimate superweapon the Death Star. A new report from Jeremy Horwitz of iLounge provided us with what he claimed is a few details on the upcoming fifth-generation iPad based on hands-on time with a “supposedly accurate” physical model. He also claimed to have details on upcoming iPhone releases. Horwitz noted he has inspected what he believed are casings for the iPad 5, and he described a completely redesigned device with “virtually no left or right bezels, and only enough space above and below the screen to accommodate the mandatory camera and Home Button elements....
Apparently, half of the UK’s 18-24-year olds use social media to share their lives online more than they watch television, according to new research from Flip Video. Over half (58 percent) of 18 to 24 year olds visit a social networking site every day with 42 percent of 25 to 34 year olds admitting the same frequency. It could be that the day’s of TV dominance are declining, on news that 61 percent of 18 to 24 year olds and over half of 25 to 34 year olds spend more time online than watching TV....

Apple stock took a beating in premarket trading as Rosenblatt Securities released a pessimistic updated outlook on company performance. The firm downgraded Apple stock to “sell” from a previously neutral rating. The company said Apple’s new iPhone sales will be disappointing and that services revenue growth will decelerate. Apple suppliers will be lowering component manufacturing for iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in the first quarter of this year following the peak holiday season. Via Digitimes, lower orders are mostly from seasonality trends but some sources noted that iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 sales have not been as strong as expected and are ‘dragging down’ iPhone X momentum in terms of overall iPhone production. iPhone 8 component orders apparently began falling off during the final months of 2017 which is unusual for flagship iPhone sales....
As a serious photographer, I do as much as I can to make my daily shots excellent, using cameras with low-noise sensors and fast lenses — then trying to keep them as steady as possible in low light. But even the latest and best cameras can’t snap perfectly clean images in dark surroundings. Grainy noise is basically inevitable in darkness, and the more basic the camera you’re using, the more likely it is to appear in a wider variety of pictures....
